12/31/2023 0 Comments 2005 acura rl coolant reservoir capTo point it out most of the coolent would of still been in the system in the rataror and the block and hoses… you just had what on top missing causing the car to get very hot. I think the take away you learn is not to push your car to hard with a coolent leak… but most likely you just dodged a bolet… When ever you think your car is getting to hot turn it off, turn your heater on full blast… the heater core is like a small ratator and might save your but… but you miught be sweeting it off…. you can do a compression test and test that to check the system and see if that shows anything wrong… also check your coolent for oil… those are some of the ways you can check it… another way but you will have to wait is to have the oil analized kits cost about $20 and you mail it out… make sure that site can check coolent in oil before ordering kit… also you can check the spark puggs to see if its wet or burning oil… Now to answer your question what happens with alumanum heads that most modern cars have the head will warp causing the head gasket to leak… checking your coolent before is a good idea… but I wouldnt of pushed my car at all hard with a coolent leak… the antifreeze in the oil might not show up right away it might take some time… before it will start to show. sorry i’m new so i’m not as knowledgeable as you guys. Sorry for the long read thank you guys for any input and they are greatly appreciated. Expansion Tank Cap - Compatible with 2002 - 2006 Acura RSX 2003 2004 2005. I’m just extremely worried because i don’t want this to cause any damage to my engine header.Īfter i replaced the cap and installed dip tube, my car runs perfectly fine now with no check engine light on and very little white smoke coming out from exhaust, no coolant mixture in oil, but i’m still extremely worried about warping the head&cylinder. Shop for Acura Tl Engine Coolant Reservoir Cap at. i did not see smoke from engine bay nor sense any strong burning smell. My question is would temp gauge at 4/5 mark considering as engine overheat(see picture)? it was there for about 5 minutes before i parked my car and turned it off. I’m just not sure if that range is considered as over heating or still within safety region, because obviously you can see there is no red range marking on there like other makes and older cars my car was running at that reading for less than 5 minutes and i shut off my car before it went over 4/5 mark on the gauge. My coolant level was quite low before and i didn’t top it off on time, plus i reved my engine to 4~5k rpm for a few secs while driving home, so this plus no drop tube in my reservoir might caused extremely low coolant level in my rad and made it boil and it all went into the reservoir. i quickly parked my car and popped my hood, the fan is running at high and my coolant reservoir was at max(normally empty) after turning my car off for 5 minutes the gauge returned to normal and coolant went back inside rad after i put the dip tube back on. So i was having a bit of fun, driving a bit hard on an empty road while heading home today and found out my water temp gauge was at 4/5 mark when i was about to park, really close to red(see picture). i’ve left out the dip tube inside reservoir because i was in process of ordering a new set, so air must’ve went into my rad after i turned my car off as pressure decreases.
